stock head unit issues

ok guys i have a 02 cavalier with the cdplayer, tape player with RDS system and stock amp. ok i have a line converter connected in the rear on before the stock amp and i have had issues iwth my cd player not plaing cd's for a while... on cold days it wil play for ever or when i get out of work... untill the cd player heats up then it says check cd and spits it out... on hot days i cant listen to it for more than 5 minutes and it does this... is there any fix for this or what? i know i need ot upgrade but is there a fix till then? thanks....

Maybe if you can get some air to it to cool it down. Stock cd players are notorious for getting too hot to play a cd. One time when your messin with it, leave it on for 15 minutes or so and touch the side. I'm amazed it doesn't burst in flames.
