I just got an AUX adapter. One end goes to the AUX port , the other is supposed to plug into the deck and then u plug the factory wiring into that. But the connector on the AUX adapter is 9 pin. The factory is 21 i think (98 z24). Is there an adapter for this or should I just take it somewhere and have them cut wires and junk. I really dont wanna do that myself.

I think u have to have a radio that came with a stock cd changer but I'm not to sure.
It says...
Quote:
The PXGM9 requires a factory outboard source, such as console or dash-mounted separate cassette deck, separate CD player, or console-mounted CD changer. The factory outboard source, either CD or cassette, must be inserted and playing for the PXGM9 to feed in the auxiliary audio.
So i'm not too sure.

What's your end goal with this? My CD player came with an aux input, so I've not had to fool with this sort of thing before. If you're wanting to get like an Ipod to play on your system, just use an FM modulator.
Or get a new HU with an aux input
I'm planning on hooking my iPOD directly to the system. The fm modulator is horrible. I'm also gonna get XM. I'm getting the reciever from a friend of mine , and I'm gonna try to get a Delphi box for it or whatever will work with it. I'm trying to avoid getting a new stereo , since I like my stock deck and its hard to find double din stereos these days. I'm gonna run it by some dudes at an audio place , they may be able to wire it for me. Thanks for the info

those aux adapters only work on 98 radios with tape players
if your deck has a cd player, the adapter won't work
you need to either get a tape a player, or go for a wired in fm modulator
thats what i had for a while, it worked ok, not great
ive switched to an alpine head unit with ipod adapter, couldnt sound any better
thats the way to go
