my amp stopped working a little bit ago so i checked it out and my fuse under the hood was melted. the power light on the amp was on but the amp was pulling just 2.7 volts. when i put in a new fuse, the fuse starts to spark. i rewired the entire system and ran a new ground and the fuse still sparks. is this a blown amp? the amp is old so i wouldnt be surprised.
When you say you rewired the system, did you replace the power wire? If not take a DMM and test the resistance between the power wire and ground, if there's little or no resistance the power wire is shorting out somewhere. If not then it sounds like the amp is shorted out internally.

i replaced all of the wires just to make sure i covered everything; power, remote, ground and rca's.
it is probly the amp. its happened to me, really sucks, check if its under warranty.
