I currently have a 12" MTX sub in a custom made ported box. My current sub is 250 watts RMS. My amp that runs it is an orion 150.2 which is 360Watts RMS. I can get a good deal on a MA Audio box and subs, which has 3 12's running at 600watts RMS each. Since my amp is a 2 channel and is currently bridged to my mtx, i will have to loose it for the MA audio subs and i will not be able to bridge it because there are 2 connections on the box so i will be running 180 watts RMS.
My question is will my MTX be better then the MA Audio subs as far as bass, Qaulity and reliability??
Thanks guys!!
Sorry to waste a post, but i do not have a model number for the MA subs...
for bass your be better off with 3 sub's more cone area
Thats true sweetnloud not to be picky, but there's a saying quailty over quantity..
I dont like any of MA's subs...except for their HK series. I have an XE 15".....you'd puke if you saw how cheaply made it was. I think I could snap the basket with my bare hands.

I had 2 MA1200XL's, they were pretty darn good subs. HK's are really good, but they're also 250 bucks a pop

thats true in some case's but with a 300 watt amp its not goin to matter to much, if he had over 1000 then yea it wound matter.
STAY AWAY FROM MA SUBS. I work for a high volumne dealer of both MA and MTX. dollar for dollar, you will get much better build from MTX. We typically see a 1:12 ratio on returns of MA due to the spyder coming unglued, open voice coils, ect. If you have the bucks, stick with MTX
ALL MTX in my ride, i love the stuff, and its a great price. just look around ebay for your exact sub, buy another one or two, then get a monoblock that'll do the 1.6 ohms without going into protection. if you only get one more, any monoblock will do. the difference between your amp (A/B class) and a mono (D class) is the digital signal it provides. this how work -
A/B 500watt amp, being 50% efficient means that 50% is lost to heat giving 250watts real power
D 500watt amp, being 90% efficient means that 10% is lost to heat giving 450watts real power
^ where did this guy come from? lol

lol thanks, i've been hiding around the performance, nitrous and boost forums mostly, got my new engine so i got bored of sound... for now. high end stereos everyday makes the excitement of forums and new stuff kinda fade.

No Offence, but a Mobile Dynamics education means nothing. Most shops laugh @ M.D. grads.

man, i learned more at mobile dynamics than I could have learned working at a shop for a year. they teach so many tricks to speed up and simplify the install. as long as you dont party your ass off like EVERYONE does that goes there. you can pretty much get hired at any shop. i also did the media dynamics course and now i work in a custom shop doing home theaters everyday. we dont do any jobs under $30,000. i would have never got hired there if i didnt have the education i got in toronto. oh, by the way i just turned 19 and i'm making more money than my parents.
