-Good-

http://www.ultimate-sound.com

Ultimate while being rather unknown is a great car audio company, a T3 2100 will power them up well. (Ultimate is owned by Altec Lansing, which also makes Sinclair Audio (Great home audio). The only drawback is it is hard to find distributors of this stuff. in the US. ( (but this amp will run you about 180 to 230 flat from most retail shops.

-Better-

*** A middle man in your budget, great amp. Can't go wrong on this one. High qaulity, and it matches with the subs, which is in itself a semi bonus. (BUT IKE rapes you on shipping and taxes, the amp will most likely come out to a total of 250 $ or more.

-Best-

***IF you are looking to spend your peak budget. This amp will outlast your car itself, and put out the power -300 @ 4ohm . Run it @ 1 ohm and you will have a huge smile on your face. For its price and what you are looking for. This amp in my opinion is the best you will get money wise (on your budget).

check out elemental designs, a nine.1 amp will power those VERY nicely @ 1ohm. It puts out 1200w rms @ 1 ohm, and it's within your budget. The site it www.edesignaudio.com

Satisfactory @ best ever since Maxxsonic bought them up. Watch a Collossus smoke up and watch them back out on warrenty. (did it to me and my buddy on ours, which I made a thread for a little while back*)

hifonics is inefficent and over rated(both in reviews and their power ratings) i have yet to see a newer hifonics put out rated power. i would surf around ikesound.com and try and find a good DEI amp, brand new or refurb, whatever fits ur budget for what you find on there... DEI owns Directed Audio, Viper, and Orion, all are sold on ikesound...i also believe PPI is a DEI product now (dunno for how long they have been, if im corect on them being owned by DEI), but they also have great amps, I dont hesitate to recomend RF amps and kicker amps are pretty decent... i realy think bang for the buck, kicker is lacking big time, for their prices u can get better.. and matty and buda, is 1000-1200watts rms for a pair of type-s's realy necesary? i would say if you are not planning to keep the amp and upgrade subs in the future, why not save yourself some cash and look for an amp that puts out the right ammount of power, little more is always good, but why spend extra money on extra wattage that youre not going to use or need?

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn

the closest thing JL makes to a "400x1" or "400/1" would be the e1400D, or 500/1.... im very confused at what a 400x1 or 400/1 are.... but anyway....yeah....back on topic....best of luck on finding a good amp to power those Type-S', i would post some specific recomendations, but i already did my recomending, and im too lazy to browse and post links lol
