I am not really a newbie, its just been a while and I forgot my old log in name. Anyway, here is my question. I am looking for a good sounding sub to put in my wife's sunfire trunk that wont take up a lot of room. And no tubes. Thanks

Price range? how much power are you looking to feed it? How much are you looking to spend on an amp...or do you already havge one? Does the box size matter...or are you looking to save space?

Nothing too pricey and I am trying to save room. But according to LANMAN31337 this is a retarded question. I guess he doesn't believe in opinions. By the way, I do know what I am talking about. I have hooked up many systems in my life, but never in a car. For instance I have an Infinity Kappa Perfect in my truck. She doesn't want her car to be that loud though.

I believe he was refering to the subject - OK instead of help me find a system or something informative

I didn't see anybody contesting your install skills or ablitiy

And finally to add to your post
You didn't answer Lash's question

Something small would be one sub, and 8,10 or 12 in a small box. Post your prices you want to spend and somebody will help you. Stop get mad for simple questions.

OR, you could do something completely insane like using the search function and typing in the words "opinions" or "advice" or "SQ" or "sound quality" or "best sounding". There are like 15 threads a week dealing with EXACTLY the same question you're seeking an answer for.

Not that it matters much, seeing that you didn't answer Lash's questions. We can't help you one bit if you don't give us absolutely vital info like box size, amp power, whether you want pure SQ, pure SPL or something in the middle, type of music your wife listens to, etc. Until you answer these questions, no one can give any kind of proper advice and this thread does little more than take up bandwidth.

Sorry if I stepped on any toes. It has been a long few weeks for me. She listens to techno and a lot of rock. Spl doesn't matter, mainly SQ. I am trying to keep as much room in the trunk as possible. No more than 100 - 125. Maybe about 300watts. I also want to appologize to Lanman31337. Sorry

Mainly SQ in a tiny box with not too much power....

Infinity Perfect 10 or 12. Dirt cheap if you're an American (something like $100 each), fantastic SQ, they hit really deep ,and work great in a small sealed box (you can go ported if you wish with no problems). That's what I'd go with if I was in your shoes.

where can you find an Infinity kappa perfect for $100?

everywhere i look its $250-300

Maybe you meant referance series?

Re: OK

On Ebay. I've seen probably a hundred brand new Perfect 12s go for $95-105USD. I considered buying 2 to use in HT for months before buying my Klipsche 12" powered sub last Xmas.
Maybe you're thinking of the Perfect 12 variable Q subs - they're quite a bit more expensive. It is possible that the regular perfect subs have gone up in price a bit, but last time I checked they were still dirt cheap on ebay.

Re: OK

I KNOW! lets start a post with a retarded title, THEN when people give you solid advice on some amazing SQ drivers...IGNORE IT AND POST UP WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO BE GETTING ANYWAY, THAT NO ONE SUGGESTED! yay for waisting bandwidth!

seriously... why ask a question if u end up just going and getting something on ur own choice anyway??

why am i doing this... oh cuz i love SQ and love helping people not buy junk (not saying boston is junk, but refering u to what i KNOW to be great sq drivers that i have personal experience with)

ID IDMAX
ID IDQ
JL W6v2
JL W3v2
eD Ov2
eD Kv2
theres a few for you to consider... but hey, why give advice... youre getting the boston anyway... uhg...

I didn't finish my statement in my last message. I appologize for not doing so. I had also wanted to put a question that if anybody had any experience with these. But I was in a hurry when I typed it up. I also appologize for my stupid title. I appreciate all of the advice, I really do. But, let me ask a serious question. PLease let me know if I am not wanted here and I will never be heard from again. Thank You.
