I've had enough with buying the low life stealing bitches of the city of Memphis nice Alpine headunits. People cant work and earn want they want...so they prefer to steal. F-that.

Anyways, I am going back to stock. So questions...

would this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cavalier-Impala-Malibu-Cd-Player-Radio-Stereo-OE-LKQ_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38641QQitemZ8074376313QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

work in a 2004 Cavalier? Also, I dont believe my car came with the "theaft lock" system installed...but if this headunit has one, would I have to goto a dealer to get it unlocked?

thanks guys.

It should work with your car, or any 00-05 Cavalier or Sunfire. You will more than likely have to go a dealer and have the radio lock removed. Once it is programmed for your car you will not have to have it reprogrammed again. You should also look into factory CD/Mp3 players. I have a Grand Am GT Monsoon Mp3 player that allows factory fit and finish, door chimes, red display with equalizer, Mp3 Capability, and of course is undesirable to would be thieves. If, however, you decide that you want want the Radio on eBay and miss out on it, let me know. I have the same exact one with cassette capability as well, and I will sell it to you for the same price plus shipping.

just out of curiousity... can I take JUST the HU to the dealer for the reprogram? or do I have to install it in the vehicle first and then go to the dealer?

keep in mind if you get a monsoon you need the amp that goes with it too

My buddy bought a 98 S10 with a Theftlock stereo and didn't know the code when he got the truck. After I unplugged his deck wired in the amp and subs, and plugged the deck back in, the stereo was locked. He took it to the dealer where he had to leave the truck running for 30 minutes straight. They then hooked him up with a code reset to all zeros. If the seller had the code set, get the code, if not it's prolly still all zeros.
