kind of an odd question
Saturday, June 17, 2006 6:37 PM
i was speaking with lanman and he told me that i couldnt get a led watt meter for my system to tell me waht wattage I am hitting at loud volumes. he said that i could only get amp meters that have the led bulb for the visible part of the meter.

well then i got to thinking how about just the led part of it. where would i go to get some info on making a lit amp meter?

idk if any of that made sense, but it did to me, if not ask and ill clarify it some more

thanks, matt

A lit AMP meter? Have you tried Autometer's colbalt series gauges?

All that meter does is go off the voltage your speakers is putting out. Here's how those meters work - http://www.talkingelectronics.com/Projects/StereoVUmeter/StereoVU.html

think of a bass light, all it does is turn on with the bass, but i want it to work just like those meters
its just a thought though

Well, there's schematics there on that site. Each resistor has it so the light will light up with different voltages.
