ive had my sunfire for about seven months now and three months ago i put in a different deck to replace the factory one and a small amp 2-3 weeks later the alternator went bad after replacing it i figured it was not a problem the car is a 99 and the alternator i pulled out was the original so i figured it was just bad. now i have a bigger amp and my alternator has gone bad again !!! doe anyone think my stereo play any part in this ? or am i just having a run of bad luck ? has anybody found a high output alternator for a j-body ? if anyone could help i would really appreciate it ! thank you!

Its not how fast your car goes....its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.

well i use to have the same promblems you did, at frist i went through 4 alts before i got one of the 160 high amp alts on ebay for about 190 bucks. but after i install that i had the same problem so after hours of figuring out the problem it ended up being the wire from the alt to the starter didn't have a good connection so i upgrade that wire to a 4 guage and then i put a 4 guage ground wire from the alt to the frame and did the same with the batt. now it works fine and i am running two 1500 watt amps for my 15's
