Just got back from my first comp

Well i was pretty happy after the comp. I didn't place but i hit a 141.6 on all three of my runs on the term lab mic and the winner hit a 143.1. Im using a prefab slot vent box with 2 lanzar 12's and a power acustik 1920 wat amp which really puts out 400 watts rms per channel even though it says 440 rms per channel. I think i need to build a better box and im going to go with more sensative subs. oh i was in class 2 with the windows down. Can anyone help me with the box design that is good for daily driven?

Ditch the capicitor. Get a yellow top and do the big 3 instead.

I only use the cap to see what my voltage is at i go to the drive in alot now that is is summer and there are times that i get to see 3 movies for the price of one and i have gotten stranded out there before because i was stupid and didn't turn my car on to charge up the battery. And i already did the big three with 2 guage wire but no fuse yet.

as for the box i want to build....
I was wondering if i could make a ported box that has the slot ports on each side of the box but having the subs face each other with 4inches of separation in a kind of port kinda like this guy http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Eclipse/8808.1.wmv
actually just like this guy here http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Soundstream/dbextreme.3.wmv

What do you guys think.

Seriously....get rid of the cap. Get a voltage gauge if you want to check voltage.

And get a fuse in there pronto!!!!!!!! Or else unhook it until you do!!

This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.... That box looks pretty slick. I'm really suprised it's not cancelling. You have the Lanzar Max series subs. They like small ported boxes, around 1.8 cubes per sub. My suggestion? Of course ditch the cap. Get yourself 2 Lanzar Opti1232d's and an Opti2000d. 3.6 cubes after displacement, two 3 inch diameter ports, 6 inches long. It'll crush.

Well right now i have them in a prefabricated box but i was thinking of building one like the ones that you see in the videos i posted, only difference is that i plan on porting the box on the sides but i was afraid to get some cancelling action going on. I think what im going to do is order a box from soundsthatpound.com. As for the cap its out of there and i just fused the my big 3 setup. Opti's do pound but at the time i had to get some cheapies as my older pioneer stuff stopped working properly, but i and many of the people at the show were impressed with what my lanzars did. I was the most consistent car out there no matter how hot my stuff got or how many people help me with the flexing on my car i always hit 141.6 from 41Hz-52Hz.
