I'm deciding on a headunit, but I can't make up my mind. Ive been told Eclipse and Alpine are decent companies, but there are so many and I want to hear some opinions.
I want to buy the unit off of crutchfield.com, it seems like a reliable site and I was refered to them so I can't go wrong.
Anything $150-$200, with options. Remote isn't a neccessity, I don't know if I want to be fumbling around with it, but I guess it could be a convenience. Anyway, any info you can provide would help, i'm planning on ordering the subs, comps, amps, and headunit tommorow, then getting a custom box made for the subs, and i think I need some fitting on the comps for the front (CDT 6.5" classics).
First, do a little research. Crutchfields is almost always over priced. So here are my recommendations for great audio sites.

They both get there stuff wholesale, meaning you can get the same product anywhere just much cheaper through them. Ive personally bought audio equipment from both of them and they seem to be quite reliable.

Instructions are always free. If you had to pay for them, your retarded then. no offense. and crutchfields only gives you free hardware and install kit on the higher end models.
Eclipse CD2000 $199 at Circuit City. If you want a remote it's only $20.

Alpine FTW. I have a CDA-9847 and I LOVE it.
I'd consider sellin it to you actually for $150 plus shipping. I'm gonna be bumpin up to the 9857. PM me if you're interested.
The reason to buy from crutchfield is that they are the only online authorized alpine seller. So you get warrantys and such.
If you are going for the lowest prices, try etronics.com. I have found prices for alpine stuff on there for even less than ebay.
