Well I finally had a door speaker go out and am looking to upgrade to a set of components, Infinity 60.7cs's, and was looking for a decent priced amp that will still put out a good clean signal.
what i am looking at is either a orion 3002 or 4002 2 channel, i only found a few posts relating to orion and nothing negative came up so i figured i would throw the combo out there and see if anyone has had issues with these amps before?
for those that use them, are they overrated, underrated, or on par?
do they put out a relatively clean signal? more of an sq or spl type amp?
any suggestions are welcomed, but remember this is a DD and not a competition car.
Also looked at the CDTs, how do they really compare? i see a lot of people are planning on getting them but never really heard them/ of them before recently on the JBO.
Thanks to those that help out ahead of time.
I had an 2 Channel orion amp running a 12"MTX (Orion 150.2). It was very solid amp and i pounded it for about 4 years. They will put as much as they say they do, if not more. I found mine to be reliable and easily accsesible for tuning. From what i know they put out more SQ. When i switched to my kicker amp i definetly noticed that my kicker had more spl, i lost the SQ i loved from my orion amp. My car setup was a daily driver and the amp ran my setup perfectly. I am just waiting for some $$ to get a wiring kit and run this orion amp for my rears.
I dont think ORion will dissapoint you as i found it reliable after many years of torture.
Thanks Josh, not looking to really torture it just upgrading from the 2 ways that went out and not trying to break the bank, although i did find a few toys that I am sure I would enjoy, wife would probably start poisoning me if I dropped a couple grand though
Well, im sure you know thats its qaulity over qauntity, you can get a nice orion amp for about $300 and it would be a good upgrade. Mabye you should start eating out more?
well I ordered the 60.7cs's and a 3002, should all be in by Friday afternoon, just in time for a fun day of Saturday install
Thanks Josh
update, no amp, yahoo and security department stuck their cawx in my arse but i did get the components.
so i am in the market for a 2 channel amp that puts out 75+ watts RMS and has a clean signal, catch is i don't want to break the bank. i am not going to walmart or anything, need a good just ahead of the middle of the pack amp at a decent price.
any suggestions?
Well I ended up getting
this for $125, took a few hours to get everything hooked up and wiring ran but definitely worth the time and effort,.
Now all I have to do is finish up the rear.
Thanks to those that were able to help out.
