Hey guys.. im working on installing my new Headunit and was asking about how to hook this up in a thread about the unit, but not everyone may know I needed help so I thought it made more sense to just start a thread, and I have searched also. I just cant seem to figure out the hookups since this is my first DVD player in a vehicle.
Here is the back of it..
I know what to do with.....
line outs ( hook up the 4ch amp )
line in ( if I was hooking in a source like a game consoles audio )
video in ( for hooking up a game consoles video )
video out ( connecting another monitor )
ant ( hook in ant. if I had one )
sub out ( hook up mono amp )
Center wont be used since I dont have a center channel speaker
......but I dont know what to do with these
OE Remote ( I assume I just wont use it.. I guess its for Steering wheel controls? )
2nd Audio out ( WTF )
Reverse Gear ( I guess this has to do with the DVD player not working while in gear, yet I want to play music videos while crusing with passengers, so how should this be grounded ? )
Also, there is like an 8 pin connector next to the RCAs and I have no idea what that would go to...
Any Input on getting this thing hooked up would really help me out, and today is my only day off this week so let me know if you can help ASAP
Thanks alot

oe is optional equipment. So im assuming there is a wired remote that you can get. To get it to play while driving just ground the parking brake wire the reverse gear is used with a back up camera and would switch the screen on to the camera when the vehicle is in reverse.
oh ok cool.. thanks
I know this sounds really newbish.. but how would I ground te parking brake ? I dont know where the wire is ?
Would pulling the brake up one click work also ?
.
.
that is VERY newbish, haha
instead of hooking the wire up to the parking brake, just ground it.
its that simple
i just did it and it worked for me
did yours come with a big ole brain unit?
is it a flip out or just a 3" ?
I got it all wired up.. just spliced it in with the HU ground and it worked fine.. looks awesome and works great too.. the more I play with it the better Im making it sound and look like with background and stuff.. neat unit
Its got a 3.5" Widescreen in the unit.. but im spiitting the Video out and connecting 2 7" monitors in the visors

Muahahahahaha
Check this out man, really easy. the OE remote, don't worry bout it. The reverse cable, that's only if you want to hook up a rear view camera so the unit will know when to switch to rear-view. The 8 pin connector i forgot what it was for, but not important. Also, that ugly green/purple wire, just cut it shorter, and wrap it around the metal part of the antenna connection. That way it grounds to itself and plays while driving, hehe.
Also, dont' be alarmed if your external monitors don't show anything when you're listening to the radio, an aux input (unless it's video input), or a regular CD. They only work when a video is playing, and if you have an mp3 cd in (really cool, shows all the files instead of going 1 by 1 like on the main reciever).
Hope you like it man! I love mine. Just got it. Let me know when you find the 3 volume controls
Oh! 1 more thing, the unit is deep. So be sure and hack some of that plastic behind the dash. It's hard with all those RCA's to get it to fit, but after 15 minutes and tucking the RCA's to the side it fit.
yeah.. I got it all wired this morning ! lol.. it looks like that now
Thanks for all the help guys..

That is a nice HU for sure
Hope you like it man! I love mine. Just got it. Let me know when you find the 3 volume controls
what do ya mean by this? care to elaborate a lil more?????!
i sell the unit and have no clue what your talking about!
1st 1st gen on air.....
I know you can change the volume regular.. and then go to volume adjust ( 0 - +12 ) but I dont know what else..
im sure if I knew what you meant I would know... I have pressed every button and gone through every option lol
Its def. nice, I am in love with it.. I love the HPF built in.. really helps the SQ out from the subs
.
.
1) The main volume control
2) In the subwoofer setup, there is a volume control that goes to either 10 or 12. 0 turns the subs off.
3) In the high pass setup, there is another volume control that goes up to 12.
One thing I can't get to work, is the individual speaker test tones. I wanna turn up my front speakers, but don't wanna mess with the fade. Heh... I'm gonna keep playing with it, it's so fricken cool.
Another cool thing about the high pass volume control (the volume adjust you found) is you can set it per source. Like I have the FM radio turned to +6, my XM Radio (which is extremly quiet) to +12, and my CD/DVD at + 5. The XM is ran through the aux-input (RCA's) and I re-named the source in, hehe. The PS2 is also ran through that, I just gotta switch the input in the settings from type AUDIO to AUDIO/VIDEO and it works great.
how do you get to the hi-pass menu? all it shows is on and off to the best of my knowledge
1st 1st gen on air.....
You know what Abby, I messed up. I ment the volume control in the options. It has the option to go 0 - 12. I'm still learning this thing, and turned my front speakers up 3db so they are even with my rears now. The high pass filter is awesome, no seperate crossovers needed when you get subs.
