I currently am running
1 12" type R
with a p3001 900 watt rockford amp and i wanted to get another type R and was wondering what is a good amp to run 2 type R's with?
the rms is 500 and max watts is 1500.
don't look at max wrms, just go with whatever the rms is, because that's what you'll want to be around. check out
http://woofersetc.com in the amp section, and look for a 1 channel, 1000 watt amp. Try the Soundstream PCA1000D 1 ch amp, good product and decent price.
Another p3001? How well do you like your rockford amp? If you like it, why not get a matching pair?

I like my Alpine V12 M1005 1000w amp. I use it to power my two type r's
Yep, I was gonna say a MRD-M1005.

I think that brutus one by hifonics...i dont think i've ever really heard anything bad about them...and that one looks pretty good for ur subs, as long as their dvc 4 ohm, then you could wire it to 1 ohm and be gettin 1200ish watts of continuous power, which would be slightly overpowerin them but im sure they could take a bit more than rated according to some people who have ran them

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
u dont want a hifonics amp... i had two treio 18s with 8 amps like the one mentioned above in the back of an s10 and i only hit a 156.8.... and i changed to CADENCE amps and hit a 159.3...
soundstream products are pretty good but ive notice they get very hot--amps- and ive seen some fry right in front of me
CADENCE and American Bass are some of the best out there .....hands down
if u want to spend your money right and get the best product the frist time get one of these brands that u could never go wrong with and trust me i build spl systems for a living

Cadence

american bass

for ur subs i would go with an american bass d1000 or d1500 they are very reiable amps and run like 250-300 ....very good service from american bass should have a very good warenty...the d1500 amps also feature daisay chain --what this is u can take two of them and chain them as on slave amp and a master amp... makes two d1500 push out prolly 2800 true watts to a sub
also cadence very good never can go wrong with em but price goes up a little

can u find me a link to that american bass d1000 or d1500 i cant find ne of those.
i saw the xd 1000 on the site but that is it.
the xd 1000 is actually a higher quality amp from american bass its very good in sound quality ....has very good lows.. but here u go... the d1000 and d1500 are out of production but can easliy be found..... the sq880 would be the amp i would use... u get this amp... u will have 1 louuudddd system ..very clear.. almost no distortion.... the xd 1200 or xd 1800 would be a good choice to...dont let the power rating get u down these are very good subwoofer amps and a daisy chainable

Hi Fonics are not what they were several years ago.
MMATS are highly powerful, but unreliable service wise.
I personally love Concept. They take a beating, you can crank them for hours on end and they won't thermo down even if poorly ventilated, plus they under rate their power.
But, I would go with one that matches the Fosgate you have now, it would look much nicer. Or sell it on ebay, and buy 2 of the new amps the same. $.02

Depends how much you want to spend and what exactly you're looking for. For me, I want something reliable and good SQ. I'm never going to compete or want to be the loudest. I have been using HiFonics amps for years, and they've never done me wrong. They're priced good, and I've always been pleased. I like to spend the rest of the money on my motor...
ok so ur looking for a mono class D amp putting out around 1k watts rms, that will be reliable, put out rated power AT THE LEAST, and be EFFICIENT.... Hifonics is not the way i would ever send someone in this case... i have yet to see their amps put out rated power anywhere in the volated spectrum, and their efficiency can be beat by countless others.
Soundstream's PCA line is an amazing way to go, JL although i highly reguard them, their amps can be quite inefficent.
i mean, theirs too many options out there... give us a price range... with a P3001, youre getting what... 300 or 350 rms? i say if that is fine for you, get another one, and go like that... if ur looking for a single amp to replace your current one all together, give us a price range...some brands to consider....

On the other hand....you have other fingers.
I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn
Now look up some amps by those companies and see what fits ur price range....some are very pricey, some are lower priced... all are damn nice amps, that put out at least rated power and i have yet to see any one of them be as ineficient as any JL slash amp or Hifonics i have ever seen or used
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

sorry i guess i did forget to post what i wanted to spend.
i guess ne where from 150-350.
And all i want is a class d mono amp that will give the me the max rms of the 2 type r's and be a good reliable amp.
I am kind of leaning towards the m1005 since from what i have heard it is the amp to have with the type R's.
but i didnt want to spend that much but i might have to.
ok if u get an amp that puts out 1k watts RMS its going to put out 1k watts rms,... reguardless of brand... the alpine amp isnt going to power the type Rs any better than another,.... a specific amp isnt "the" amp for any specific subs... but that amp will do quite well if u wanna go brand matched
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

do u know off a good quality amp with 1000 watt rms that is around 150-350?
i am thinking that i now am looking for an amp with like 800 watt rms for each sub so one that would be 1600 watt rms @ 2ohms.
Also the price range is the same. And the subs i will be running are the 2 ohm ones so they are the 1222D's.
1000-1600 RMS at 2 ohms mono for 150-300 is going to be hard to find... why dont u get the 4 ohms so u can wire them down to a 1 ohm load, generaly speaking it will be easier to find an amp with that kinda power at a 1ohm load cheaper than one that will put that ammount out at 2 ohms
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

because i already have 1 of the 2 ohm alpine type R's
mtx still makes good quality amps
hifonics are one of the better amps out there today i have seen a few test that they do right around there rated power at 14.4 volt's.
the bx and bxi line up is not as good as the XX line but all of them are vary good amp's for the cost. thats why hifonics is one of the leadin amp manufacturers you see in the street class because they put out the power and then some.
I have 2 12" type r's I am running them off a Viper D1200.1 @ 1 ohm. Thats rated for 1200RMS @ 1 ohm. So at 14 volts each sub is getting 600 Watts. I am very very happy with what I have. I picked my viper up off ebay for a reasonible price.
