Ok.....i was hooking up my system yesterday and i accidently touched the ground to the positive of the battery and the positive wire to the negative of the battery. I heard something pop twards the front of the car. Went to start it this morning and it starts but over a time of about 1 hour the volts drop and it goes dead. It starts with a voltage of 12.6 then drops to nothing. I changed alternators already thinking that was it because of the battery not holding a chage but it must not have been. I also checked all the fuses under the hood in the box and in the interior box. I need help on this asap so some answers or suggestions would be really helpful.
what kinda battery?? may be time for a new one

I have an optima yellow top but its not the battery cause i put my girlfriends dads in the car and it does the same thing. I think i may have just got a bad alternator from the junkyard so im going to go exchange them tomorrow.
Sounds like you blew a fusable link. Take a multimeter and measure the resistance between the positive battery post and the positive alternator connection. It should read really close to 0. If it reads open then you'll have to replace it.
labotomi has a damn good idea, but in addition, i would reccomend checking the under-hood fuse panel, for any blown fuses. when you got the alternator, did you get a new voltage regulator as well?
either way, take the alt to an auto parts shop( pep boys, auto zone, etc) and have them test it!! doesent cost you anything!!

if the battery is dying while the car is running, most likely dead alt or alternator related (as labotomi mentioned, fusable link).
if the battery only dues while the car is NOT running (and is off), there is likely a - wire touching a + one, or vise versa, shorting out the battery, and therefore draining the battery, though this is unlikely as it would cause more.... noticable problems.
Figured it out. I melted the wire going from the starter to the alternator. I couldnt see it was melted because the insulationg was covering it. I pulled it and it fell apart so all is good now jut gotta go take the car for a long drive to charge the battery back up.
so why dont you have a fuse on the power wire thats going to your amp?

I do...it touched the main power wire to the negative battery post and pop cause it goes straight to the starter aand alternator. Now i have a problem with my windshield wipers. ONLY ONE IS WORKING!!! I know when my battery was almost dead i turned them on and only one went so i dont know if i fried the motor or what happend...ANY CLUE?

I think the wipers only have one motor. It's probably broken linkage between the wipers and the motor or stripped splines where the wiper attatches to the assembly. I had the assembly strip on my 2000 chevy truck. It was easy to replace the wiper with one from a salvage yard.
I wish I'd got here earlier... I did the same thing, and blew the same fusible link.
Those things do their jobs. Thank goodness.
