First off, yes, I do plan a lot.
It took me almost 6 months to decide on interior paint color, a year for this audio setup decision, 3 months to decide on an mp3 player... I find though that when I (and people in general) plan stuff out you get better results, less hassle, less cost, and it's easier.
Now along with this list I already have my 6x9 Type-R's for the rear and the other half of the XM adapter I need.
I originally wanted an all Type-R system but I tried out a new sub enclosure idea and I loved how it sounds and looks but the only problem is that I can only run one sub with it. I figured 1 Type-R wasn't enough so I decided to hop up to the Type-X. The other nice thing is that because I went with the 1 amp and type-x instead of 2 r's and 2 amps, I saved about $150. Also, the Type-X is just plain sexy.
The only thing that this doesn't include is a flip out screen and carputer setup. I'm still trying to find a flip out screen that is ONLY the screen (no radio, cd player, dvd player...) and that I think is gonna be a good buy. The carputer was originally gonna be a Mac mini but I think I've decided back again on just windows XP media center, still deciding.
Also, the total price for the install items will be somewhat less, not too sure how much yet, but I have a company workin with me on a bulk order price.
Well anyways, heres the list...
I already think I'll be getting flamed for a certain something but we'll see what happens.
The hardest part is gonna be finding the CDA-9835 in good condition. But from what I've heard, it's on of the best headunits they've ever made... biolite, i-personalize, time correction, 5 band eq, amplifier link....
Comments, suggestions, ideas, whatever, is welcomed.
Hey, now I need a new sig too.

the best head unit they aever made was the 7996 or 7998 but you will get falamed for installation bud. are those retail or internet prices.
I'd have to disagree with the 7996. The only real thing it has over the 9835 is dvd and dolby digital surround capabilities and i'm not lookin for a dvd player, and if i want, i can run dolby digital thru my carputer.
The 7998 is more just a glorified 9835 and I was lookin at them the other day but I cant go with one with a flip out screen just above it cause then the screen can't open.
But I do see where you're comin from. Depending on what somebodys lookin for, all three of them are gonna be their best bet.
Ya, I figured i'd get flamed for the install items.
All the prices are internet prices. If I went retail I would be looking at probably about twice that cost.
Keep um comin.

knuconceptz.com Check them out for all you install parts. There as good or better as Stinger and alot cheeper.

The Type X i think from experience is not going going to be the greatest choice for subs..... I helped install a Type X into a buddies car and i think there is a design flaw in the sub... there is a cone reinforcement that bottoms out on the spider and makes a rattling noise.
What amp was he running??
I was lookin at some of the ROE videos and it seemed like the ones that were underpowered did that.

Hmmm, well that's what I'm gonna be runnin too. I've never heard about this problem before though. Damn.
I wish we had one here in town that I could listen to.
-Seth
i just wouldnt want to see anyone have the same problems so find someplace to listen before purchase....
Ya, thanks. I'm gonna have to find someone here in town that personally has them because our dealers don't have any.
