Ok last night im driving home and suddenly my music stops. Alright no problem, blown fuse, i got extras.
But then i realize that, the bass has stopped as well. I think "@!#$, the main fuse must be blown." Which = hour drive home with no music, and waiting a week for a new one sence no one locally sells that type of fuse.
But then as i shut off my head unit, i dont here the tell tale "click" of my relay bypass for my dvd player and amps. Hmmm....that must mean that there is no power going to that relay, which means the remote line is screwed. So i pull over and grab tools and pull out the head unit. Im thinking i fried something so i plan on using the slack to pull it over to the fuse box and wire it up there. Luckily i hear the relay and then MUSIC!!!! I pull the plastic wire tap apart, and it appears that the wire was broken inside. So i strip the wires and used a crimp which i like better anyways, and it worked.
However, now there is an annoying sound coming from the speakers. Even with the head unit paused. Not turned off, but paused. Its like a slow click noise. It DOES NOT get louder as i turn up the music. It stays the same level and once i turn the music up i cant hear the sound.
So i need to get that solved.
Also, the music is much quieter. All the speakers are working, well i think anyways, i can here music coming from each speaker box, but the level is low. 75% now sounds like 50%. And 100% isnt as loud as 75% should be. So sence iv been keeping my head unit below 50% i had to drive to work listening to low low music sence 50 % is now quiet level. The base works perfect. If i crank that @!#$ real high although the music is kinda quiet the bass is reaking havoic on my windows and mirrors.
SO any advice as to what happened and what i can do to fix this, would be great. Thanks
Well iv heard that before, and is never sounded like this. Definitly dont think thats the problem. Thanks though
WOWWWWW
Well after work i decided to mess with the gain settings. I noticed on channel 1+2 gain, there was no difference in sound when i went up and down. So i messed with 3+4 gain. And suddenly it sounded as if the though the music wasnt balanced. So i got to thinking. when i plug in component cables, and there stereo is on, they crackle a little bit. So i ripped my dash out again, and low and behold, the plugs were half pulled out.
My volume is now back to normal and crackle is gone.
