CDT coaxials

I'm looking at this and that. Both are 6.5" coaxials from CDT and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Was originally considering Infinity Kappas I've heard a lot of good things about CDT lately.

Why not just try out a component set ? NEVER have I read a review about CDT Coax's or heard them, neither have I even seen any in person, most people just buy a comp set. BUT they are probably an extremely good product, and will most likely outperform the Kappa's.

I've thought about components, but if I can get a coaxial that has a good drivier then that's the route I would go. If the woofers are comparable on the coaxial as they are on the components that CDT makes then this looks like one hell of a good speaker for a measley $100

for a measley $30 more you could get the classic component set, since both of your coax choices were $99.99

I went with the Kappas and love them

I'm looking at them and it's a tough choice. Are the components gonna sound noticeably better than the coaxials that CDT make. A few extra bucks is no big deal, but I'd wanna keep the tweets close to the mids in the factory location (already have 6 1/2" adapter plates, but **cough** pioneer speakers) and then I'm gonna worry about a careless passenger laying their feet all over them getting in and out. Of course i'm open for suggestions on tweeter placement. I have tweeters on the dash, but I keep the level down and just use them for a little more front imaging.

place I found that I liked mine the best after trying a few different areas was centered on my lock switches and 4.5" straight down to where I centered the hole saw, sounds so much better than the infinity coaxs I had there before.

they will start a new life as rear fill.

The idea of frenching in the tweets is starting to enter my mind. I was considering no rear speakers at all but I just picked up a Pioneer deck with "front image enhancer" that cuts highs to the rear and I may try that and use my amp soley for the fronts.

Talk to JLAudioCavalier, he recommended some of these to me for when I get my stereo setup. He knows a lot about all the audio setups and what will sound best for you want and how much you want to spend.

Yeah reading some of his posts is what got me curious about CDT, maybe he'll be lurking around soon or I'll try to pm him or hit him up on aim.

He is on AIM most of the time, especially at night. But yea, let me know if you end up getting some of these and how you like them because I want to know too.

Yeah it's getting crunch time as i'm prolly gonna place an order tonight. It's a tossup right now between the coaxials and the CL-61A or CL-61T. Out of curiosity what is the difference between the 61A and 61T?

the 61a's have a silk dome tweeter and the 61t's have a Titanium tweeter.

the silk dome will give you a better sound and the titanium dome will give you more of a harsh sound( tist ). i hope you know what i mean, some people like silf and some like titanium.

^ ^ ^ ^ Thanks for the info, prefer silk dome myself so that narrows it down even more.
