L.E.D. tail lights

i was thinking of trying the led tail light idea. i know it has been done on here, but i searched and could not find them.

i would start off with my third brake light first since it's smaller. i was thinking i could take the two bulb sockets out, taping one up and using the pos and neg from the other to wire some led's (maybe 5 directional) in series. i would prob have to make some sort of board to mount them to though. that's where i am having a problem. im not exactly sure what to do.

what do you guys think? also, am i even thinking right so far? what have some of you other guys done w/ ur led tails?

John Piparo has a set so far. I'm still working on mine, however I have redesigned it to simplify the process.

Clicky for my set

Not sure who else has done it...

For the 3rd brake light, I got this setup going:

For the LED placement:

Waitin on a sacrificial third brakelight to finish it up.

Your setup for using 1 set of wires will work with no problems. If you have any questions or what not, shoot me a PM
