The question that I have for you is; Are you looking for a system that is great, good, or oka? Also do you already have the wires ran through the car, and do u want to upgrade your speakers too? If you need to do all the wiring plus subs, amp, and box u probably won't find a good sound for under about $1000. I've got 2 Type R Subs with a V12 amp with a cap, ported box and a dual amp kit wiring throughout the entire car, which came up to about $1300. So if you want to do up the entire car try this out, or you could go with a Rockford Fosgate set up. Rockford's amps come with a bass boost control that you can mount next to you. Although Rockford subs will tend to b over-powering of your mids and highs. But again you'll b looking to spend about $1000 or more.

If you have anymore questions my email is drobb84@sbcglobal.net

Damn, that still sucks ass.
But anyways...
To stay beneath your $1000 budget, it's gonna be hard to do 2 subs just because your lookin at buyin the 2 subs and then an amp thats big enough to power them both.

What I would do...
Alpine CDA-9856 headunit
Alpine SWR-1242 12" sub
Alpine MRP-M650 mono amp
Alpine MRP-F450 4 channel amp or the MRP-F250 depending on what ur other speakers are.

Even if you bought all those at crutchfield, u'll be under $1000. And if you go looking for better prices, you could probably get it down to around $800. And I didn't give you speaker choices cause I don't know if those got taken too.

And if you were to shop... you could have gotten it down to right about $600.
Just lettin you know.

Dont give advice, you're dumb. Nuf said about that matter...

Now before I go on and suggest NOT going with mainstream stuff like Alpine and RF that can easily be beat for the price, lemme ask this one thing.... SQ or SPL? big difference, what i suggest requires the knowledge of what you are looking to get out of it sound wise... stupid loud bass, or all around clear clean sound?

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn

Im not getting into an internet pissing match, nothing you said was helpful, you only recomended a few things that were brand specific systems from alpine or RF, with no actual specific product recomendations... so chill out.... dont give advice in a field you dont know enough about to give adive...and admit that u dont know everything..

and like i said, i will try the best i can once i get more specific info on what sound ur looking for

dude ur such a dick.... everyone knows something and no one knows everything. All Im saying is that u have no right disrespecting anyone for trying to help someone else out. U have ur opinions as do I, don't disrespect someone just b/c u don't agree with what they say keep that @!#$ to yourself and quit being so childish.....

but then people and up with bad info and equipment that can easily be beat for the price, wasting money and ending up not satisfied with their system. I dont think you should be arguing with jlaudiocavalier, he knows what hes talkin about, and even tho he sounds liek a dick, its prolly cuz he gets sick of seein the same stupid posts over and over and has to explain everything all the time, and maybe being a dick is the only way to get it across to people that they shouldnt be giving advice on something that they dont know enough about

ok well after looking around last night i have an idea on some stuff.

i can get 2 10" Alpine Type R's for about 220 ish off ebay

a pioneer deck is what i was thinking about trying since a lot of people run them and since they said alpines arent that great. 200 ish

amp to run two 12" type r's will run about 250 ish

and then i need another amp for my components so that is another 100 for the kicker amp i got.

or i can get a set of ma audio 10" subs for 80 plus shipping off ebay.

spl or sq i am probably in between because i like having the loud bass but my last system had really good sq also.

This is the reason why I stopped coming to the .org (and why many very knowledgeable audiophiles left). ROE has gone the same way, as has CCA.

The audio forum is here to help people out, not start retarded sh!t fights similar to those we used to read about in the versus forum.

If anyone knows of an audio forum where the people don't act like they're 10 years old, please let me know. Maybe I should ask Dave to become a mod. The org doesn't need this crap.

Get it together people. Jesus.

Hehehe,
If they don't suggest type-rs, it's L7s.

I agree - nothing wrong with not going mainstream.
Elemental Designs makes good subs for cheap.

ok i got a few things here to reply to, although this is not my thread lol

1. Lash: You just hit the nail on the head... why Type-Rs? why must it be an over advertised, overly marketed mainstream brand?
Elemental Designs
Resonant Engineering
Acoustic Elegance
Digital Designs
Image Dynamics
Adire Audio
Ascendant Audio
JL Audio(although seemingly more well known than the others listed here)
and the list goes on... all these brands are companies who have put their time and effort into making quality products for people who know what kind of sound they want and what kind of quality they want to count on... NOT spending all that time effort and money on marketing gimics and advertisement.
And as far as a budget sub that will get loud as poo and sound half decent while doing it (as even of a balance between spl and sq that you will get on a budget), I vote you check out a pair of Ascendant Audio Assasin 12s.

and for amps I would check these sites and these brands, and find the right amp that puts out the desired power at the right impendance that fits your budget:
STORE SITES:
Ikesound.com
WoofersEtc.com
OnlineCarStereo.com
and of course E-Bay (try and find e bay stores from reputable places)

Specific Amp Brands to check out when on a budget but wanting high quality:
Elemental Designs (straight off their site just like their subs www.elementaldesigns.com)
Cadence(check for factory refurbs on e bay)
Soundstream (their new PCA line is very high quality and true to ratings)
Alpine &RF(slightly higher priced than you can find out of better companies mentioned here, and when looking at an amp, a "bass boost knob u can mount next to you" is NOT a factor to consider when looking for an amp, its an extra feature for marketing and lazy people, THAT was the main comment that made me mad and resulted in snappy come backs and someone on their period e mailing me over a god damn forum)
anything made by DEI : Directed Audio, Viper, PPI, Orion
US Amps
and anything else i can think of would probly start climbing in the prices

are you also looking to get new components? if not, what are u running for a front stage right now?
are you also going to need a new box? for a damn nice custom built box built to the specs of whatever subs u decide to get, talk to JD at soundsthatpound.com he is by far the fairest in price with top quality and amazing customer service... i think enough people both here and any other audio forum im on see me whoring up his boxes lol

Unholysavage: the whole immaturity thing on the forums gets to me once in a while, but to explain my actions: IM SICK OF RECOMENDATIONS WITH NO EXPERIENCE TO BACK THEM UP, PEOPLE JUST BLURTING OUT WHAT THEIR GHETTO FAB FRIENDS RUN AND WHAT THEY HEAR FROM THE GUY AT CC AND BB, AND PEOPLE RECOMENDING THINGS AND TRYING TO "HELP" BASED ON THINGS LIKE "OH SHINY CHROME AND BASS KNOBS UBER DROOLAGE HOME SLICE" ....GO DIE ok im done venting, hope that at least part of this rant helped someone somewhere, if not.. oh well it was nice to type a shlt ton of useless crap on JBO

Man you killed me with that one

I'm going to say this, there are a few around here, not all on the audio subtopic but also suspension and performance, that initially seem like d@%k, BUT they always give good advice and I think they are just fed up with people steering others wrong. If you go a little cheap or just misinformed on audio equipment you will regret it. Then you will end up spending more later. Or let's say some d@%k tells you no you can't use 2" stiff ass lowering springs with AGX's but you do it anyway. Six months later you're bouncing.

I've talked to JLAC on aim once and he's cool and won't steer you down the wrong path. Whether or not you like how he comes off on the forums or not, he still knows what he's talking about.
