door chime not working

I recently went to best buy to have my stereo installed after weeks or arguing and hassling with them i`m tired this is what they did

they installed my system with so much problems one of the things i noticed when you leave your lights on i don't hear the chime telling me my lights are still on how do i fix this ? i don't want to go back there already been there 6 times with in 2 weeks please help and sorry for the bad English not my main language.

you have to buy the after market module for it.

and when u install that if u put ur stock deck in the chimes wont work with that module because it uses a different frequency.

Correct. The door chime goes through the factory radio, requiring a module.

Yup. as far as I know though, Best Buy shouldn't have installed the stereo without the module. We don't. I call the customer back and let em know they need the different module, and because whoever sold it to em didn't give em the right part, I usually hook them up with a discount of some sort. usually free antenna adapter or like %10 off.

yeah i had tooo much trouble with them its so bad that when i turn up my system not to even max the subs cut and speakers kick in so i cant even go higher than say volume 7

I have 2 12" subs and a pioneer amp 780 amps with my system i tried adjusting my amp but still no go it gets worse

Sounds like they used the $10 harness that I used. Yes, removing the factory deck also removes the chimes... unless you replace it with a chime module.

Hopefully they didn't charge you an arm and a leg...!
