so ive been through 3 different head units and 2 sets of speakers looking for more Mids. am i doing something wrong or is there something more i need??i currently have a JVC head unit, Powerbase componts, Kenwood rears and some subs. i was gonna add some sound dampening to my doors to help it but would that help at all?? My components are mounted on my door panel. i made speaker pods for them. so could i lay a piece of mat over the back of the door panel to seal the speaker and create a pod. please help. thank you!!!!!
instead of buying 3 HUs and 2 sets of speakers why didn't you just invest in an equalizer and tune it yourself or have it tuned the way you wanted?
well. i had to.1 HU was outdated, 1 HU got stolen. and now im on my 3rd and its beginning to break. i might be buying a new one next week. and as for the speakers i went from 4x6 to components. and where would i go to get it tuned. and what kind of EQ has the speaker in/out instead of the RCA???
Stop buying crap Hu's for a start.
haha. shut up. nobody likes you. why even post. and how do you know what kind of headunits ive boughten huh?? for your info ive been throught a kenwood, sony, alpine, and now im on JVC and am going back to alpine. so why be a dick and say things you know nothing about..
ive amped the whole thing but it really didnt change anything. so i took the amp off them cause it was my freinds..... so sealing the door with sound dampener wont help the mids at all??

right. I have used an Alpine deck for 9 years without ever having a problem.
And i dont care in no one likes me, im not here to make friends, i have them in REAL life.
I would dampen out the door, it will help but you really should amp them also.
you snooze you lose!
keep working, millions on welfare depend on you!
yeah. im bying a Alpine Cd player thursday thanks to Wizkiddrummer. so that should help. plus ill dampen the doors tonite. thanks guys. any more suggestions are welcome.
well i dampened the door yesterday. but how would i seal the back from the front. my speaker is atached to my door panel and i have pods for them. would i jus lay a piece of mat over the back of the panel where the magnet comes through???
ok kool. itl be a while before i get any more mat but ill defineatlydo that. thanks for all the help. how about and Equalizer that uses the speaker inputs and outputs instead of rca??
fix the door issue first, adding equipment to a sound issue that is related to installation is like using a buket to bail out a sinking boat insted of just plugging the hole. fix the hole first then bail it out. fix your door first then you can look into adding more gear.
on a side note i'd add an eq that uses rca versus speaker imput.

woot woot for me and selling the alpine to u - lol.
When you come down here, we can look at it cause I think the new deck is gonna help. When I was runnin it I never had a problem with not enough mid or high.
But ya, like sndsgood said, amping them is gonna help a bunch too. I think we should grab that monsoon amp in the junkyard and hook it up.

i think your right. you said you had the pigtail for it didnt you. or i could cut that one off to i guess and make it as long as i want. but were deffinatly gonna have to do that. do you have a wiring schematic for the monsoon amplifier. if not does anyone??
Ya, I have the wiring for it.
And then we can just cut off the harness from the junkyard car and extend the wires to work with ur stuff.
Shouldn't be too hard.
