Well to start i have the new MTX superwoofer rated @ 400wattsRMS, I have been running a kicker 250.2 to the sub, which is rated at 250Watts RMS. I bought a Pioneer GM-5000T which is 380watts RMS. But ive lost so much bass since the transfer to the pioneer. Would this be because my kicker has an adjustable crossover and bass boost and the pioneer doesnt?? This is really bugging me (a waste of my money)
Thanks Guys
If the pioneer does not have bass boost ( GAIN ), and ( OR ) a crossover, it is junk. By the way, what's the model number on that pioneer, that way we know what where looking at.
yea, that pioneer is a little on the junky side.

that kicker's probably actually rated much higher than the 250 stamped on it anyway. they have a habit of underrating their amps.
^^^^^Very true, and for pioneer, they ALWAYS overrated there amps output.

i hope your not trying to imply that bass boost is the same as gain, because its not. gain is a measure of the ratio of size of the input signal vs output signal. on some amps bass boost will affect gain, but bass boost is not gain

I had the 5100T which is SUPPOSED to be 360 or 380 bridged. Poor ole MTX T7500 could take a clipping
No im not implying that gain and bass boost are the same, some lower model amps I have seen list the gain as bass boost. I know gain is a feature to match to your amp preout voltage. I was just stating that if that amp has neither, its junk.

well yeah thats pretty much true. just so you know, i wasn't trying to start @!#$ with you, i have just seen too many people who have no idea what gain really is, and it gets annoying

^^^^^It's cool, I know what you meant, I hate when people are like, "and thats with the amp only turned half way up, so its only getting half the power", please.
