I was trying to disconnect my alternator power wire but i can't seem to get it off. The bolts just won't come off. Any help would be greatful thanks

Put a wrench on the stud part, and another wrench to pop the nut off. You don't wanna go unthreading the stud and possibly gimping up the threads.

i tried that but the thing refuses to budge at all! I want to spray wd-40 on it but i'm afraid that if the wires get wet something disastrous will happen.

Use PB blaster. WD 40 is flammable.

Wait. There are 2 Nuts there. The top one holds the power wire in place. The lower one doesnt remove. Only loosen the top nut. It will be under the red or black rubber boot.

Please dont mind the extra writing, it is for a DIY big 3 i did awhile back. This is for the 2200, but the other engines are hooked up the same way.

actually when i tried that the bolt nearest the alt was moving, the top nut wasn't moving at all. everytime i turned it the nut the stock wire on it would move with it. so i gave up. kinda weird

Use two wrenches. One to hold the inside nut in place, one to turn the outside nut.

because you asked a car forum how to take a bolt off your alternator

use what lanman said and it will come off, and you have to put a lil muscle in it

just like...box end wrench...and another wrench around the open part so it effectivly doubles up the wrenck or put a big pipe on it or something...if its that hard...and if that deosnt work i dont think ur bolts comin off without some kinda saw or impact gun or something...seriously...when i took mine off....i used a little wrench..and no muscle...so either urs is f-ed or...idno...super tight with some locktight and rammed on with an impact and somehow the studs didnt strip? @!#$ idno

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
