I have an Alpine CDA9856, and was wondering which wire is the turn on lead. I searched and found that the blue/white could be it, but that is bieng used, I have a solid blue that is free, then a pink(im pretty sure that isn't it). Could i be the solid blue?
Ok, the blue/white is remote but will the blue also work? the power ant? I don't have a power ant and will it only work if am/fm are on?
just use the blue/white wire.

It is being used already by the harness.
Do you not have the install manual that came with the HU?
If you don't, try alpine's website.
Though remote turn on is usually blue and usually marked as REM
It is the blue with white stripe on it. If you are already using it (to what i don't know) disconnect it because it is to be used as a remote turn on.

exactly, just tap into it with a wire tap, or solder that wire with them.

If all else fails, just find a 12v constant (lighter comes to mind) and attach the amp remote lead to that, with a switch in between. It means you'll have to flip a switch every time you start the car, but if you're REALLY lost, it's one course of action.
Even so, you might just take it to a stereo shop if you're having a great deal of difficulty figuring it out.
Try what was mentioned above first though.
Ill just use the blue/white and crimp them all.
