When you "burped" did you keep the RPM's of the car around 1000, to 1500? This is nessesary for any DB competition. Also, are you running any caps? Just remember for every 1000 watts or power you need at least a 1 farad cap.

Well, there's part of your problem. Stock electrical. That's a pretty extreme voltage drop for someone running only 1000rms. Is that a class d amp, or a more inefficient a or a/b?
The first 2 things you should do is upgrade your BIG 3 (to 4Ga or bigger) and put a real battery under the hood. Check all of your wiring to make sure that you have solid connections. If you're still experiencing big voltage drops after the BIG3 and battery, then get a HO alt, or find a more efficient amplifier.
A cap is fine for SQ, but if you ever plan on going into SPL full-on, it's not worth having. Don't waste your money on another one to try and fix your problem. If you're getting that big of a voltage drop it won't help you at all.

You have 2 amps? Didn't notice that.

But still, I think it's your puny stock electrical system that's the problem. With our cars, anytime you get over ~1000-1200rms you need to upgrade your electrical or else you're asking for problems.
