I'm debating on weather to go ported box or costom FG sealed box. Either way i go i'm going to have no trunk space but i dont know witch one is going to hit harder. Yeah i know that's alot of @!#$ for a cavy but i'm trying to go big with out hurting my ears. lol. So everyone let me know what you think either ported or costom FG sealed.
What about everything else you need? You can go ported and still fit all 4 in the trunk.
i would say ported, what about components? amp for them? sound deadener? wiring? subs/amps and a head unit arent all there is to a sound system... why do so many people think it is?!

FROM my experience, we see lots come in which have fallen to @!#$ after a year or so, the build qaulity seems to be higher on Valor units over them...

you know you could be loud for way less than 2800 bucks if that is what you are going for
and going loud without making your ears hurt is impossible
those 2 make valid points. although reguardless of price i will always stand behind JL's subs 150%

I guess if you really want to go loud without hurting your ears, the best thing to do is have that installed in a buddies car and pay him to drive around in front of you all the time

why would he? care to elaborate on why you thing those subs would be way better sealed? i personaly thing JL subs perform great sealed, but when ported and tuned correctly they sound perfectly fine... i would love to get your back-up to why they are stricktly sealed performers in your mind

all based off the specs... the qts is greater than .4 (.5), the free air resonance is less than 35 hz (28), and the xmax is greater than 4 mm (13). i just simply think it would perform better in a sealed box.
