So I got in my car for some KFC, turned it on and the door chime went on. All the doors are shut, I tried turning the HU on and off, I tried shutting the other doors, nothing. I drove my car around the block and it was going off.

How could this be happening?

I have had that problem before. It was happening on the after market chimes that are on the harness for my deck.

The way I fixed the problem was when I started driving I pulled the e-brake up a bit and then put it back down. The chimes went right off.

It has happened a couple times for me and each time I did that it worked. No idea how it was happening probably some sort of glitch with the chimes in the after market harness no idea.

Thanks for the reply. I just unhooked the speaker for the chime and plugged it back in and it worked.

this has happened a few times for me. it happens when i start the car with the door open....., it will sometimes chime for a couple mins then it seems to have an auto shut off . meh......

I've had mine do this also, the quick way to turn it off is to activate the chime. With the key on, be sure all doors are closed, turn on the headlights. Remove the key leave the lights on, then open the driver door. Turn the lights off, and the chime goes off.
