How do you tell if subs are blown? by listening? anything to test with a multimeter?
you can check with an ohms meter. if it says a reading other than the impedence of your subs, they're cooked. and most of the time blown subs will rattle loudly and/or go crunch.
use a multimeter and test the resistance of the coil. if you read 0, then it's dead.

oh ok gotcha, one voice coil was burnt and reading about 8 ohms.....solved my bass cut out problem
Now do ya know why they blew?

not sure why but one sub is, Im currently reading the FAQ and other info when I install the new sub.
