in need of a decent amp
Wednesday, August 09, 2006 10:19 PM
Can anyone recommend me a normal priced decent amp? Im looking to spend under $200 to power 2 12" subs putting out 300 watts rms and 600 watts max.

I dont have a lot of experiences with amps, but I want to be able to power both subs with no problems.

I dont know of any decent amps for less then $200. Even my Db pa475's Which are 250w 1000 w peak @ 4 ohms are around $250.

Ill look for you though, Maybe a nitro will do, but i need your Ohm rating.

Possibly Hifonics?
My advice is to find a nice used amp in that price range. You're really limiting yourself to bottom feeding amps if you're trying to buy new for under $200.
Just my $0.02.

Try to find an older JBL BP300.1. Class D amp. That might work for you...

What is the voice coil config on the subs? What brand/model are they? If they are single 4ohm, and I'm guessing they are, any of the following amps will do:

MTX Audio TC3001

Infinity Reference 311a

Kicker ZX300.1

Pioneer GM-D510M

09 HHR LS, Wife's Car
05 Cavalier, Clarion DXZ375MP, Autotek MM8000.5 & 13Kv.2, wife's old car, updates coming soon
