I bought this CD player from a friend. And ive seen it work, it works great. But the only problem is that the face light in it has gone out, and i was wondering if there is anyway to fix this?? if anyone knows how..let me know. thanks guys

Call an alpine dealer. Not a Best Buy but like a an actual audio store. Probably have to get a new face.

The faceplate on my 7840 is tempermental. Most of the time, it works. Other times, there is no display. Some of these things have made the display show up...

pounding the side of the radio console (non-j-body)
remove & replace faceplate
turn power off and back on
changing from CD to radio or vice-versa

Once in a while it bugs me, but it is a decent solid stereo, and Alpine does not offer BBE and a remote together anymore (I think?)
