ok so the other day i pulled into the driveway and turned the car off and at that time the cd player was working fine. about a couple of hours later i went back out turned the car on and the cd player wouldnt turn on. i tried to get it to work a couple of times and it still didnt work. my question is would it be a blown fuse and if so what size fuse would it be, or did i fry the head unit. thanks in advance.

Does it display a clock or anything? Any indication or lights of any sort--ex: when you put the parking lights on?

Fuses are normally in place so you don't fry the head unit, unless you mean burning it up somehow by pushing it too hard. Most likely it's a 10 or 15A fuse, either on the radio or wherever you're getting batt/acc power from... could really be a number of other things also, but if you think fuses, then go check them first.
sam - no it doesnt display anything at all.
replica 48 - i was thinking it was the fuse. im going to go and check it now.

could be a lo0se ground or lo0se power connection.....
I would check the fuses and the connections. If both are fine, what you could do to test the CD unit is take it out of the car, grab the harness as well (if it is not hardwired in) and touch the red and yellow to the + side of the battery and the black to the - (ground it!). If it lights up and is functional, then it is not the unit(obviously).

i took it to the car audio shop a few hours ago and they checked the harness and the cd player. they both checked out fine. the only thing that he said it could be is either a loose wire or a fuse. so tomorrow im going to mess around with the fuses and if that works great if not then they said that they would check the wires for me.
thanks for the help guys. im not to good when it comes to the car audio aspect of the car. so this is a big help.

Do you have a factory HU or aftermarket? either way check all your fuses, if it's an aftermarket, was an intergration module used or was the accessory line hard wired in? Module: possible bad mod or loose connection; Hard wired: find the source the lead was wired to and see if the lead came out or if fuse is bad. if you have any questions I'll be at the shop 9am-5:30pm central, ask for Casey.
