Ok well with some recent money problems (new brakes needed, wiring for turn signals etc.. blah blah) I need to cut back on my system plans by a bit or it'll never get done, so heres what i got thus far:
I want to do an all ED system
components: 6500's = $185 + Shipping
Comp. Amp: 1 Nine.2 = $175 shipped
Head Unit:
Pioneer DEH-P6800MP
Subs, ok heres where i gotta cut back, i was going to go with 2 16Ov.2 D4's and a Nine.1 to run them, but i need to cut back on a few bucks So i think im going to go with 1 sub, Im not sure which one though, i want something that can get loud but sound nice, to save like $100ish Id like to step down the Amp to a cheaper one by ED but i know nothing about electronics, Ohms blah blah so i dont know what amp i need to properly power 1 sub. Im thinking bout Maybe 1 16ov instead of 2. If i got just 1 would i still need the NIne.1 or could i get a different Amp to save some moolah. Sorry for my noobness, please help, dont flame lol.
Sorry forgot to ask, Which would be better (both price and pound) 1 16.ov.2 D4, or 2 13Kv.2's. When i ask which is cheaper, i mean like can the 2 13Kv.s be run off a cheaper amp besides the Nine.1?? (sorry if this sounds confusing)
2 13kv2s can run off of a nine.2x fine.
2 13kv2s vented off of a nine.2x will get pretty loud. I ran 2 13kv2s vented in my cavalier off a nine.1 for a while. Its a lot of power for those speakers if you get a little hard on them.
The nine.1 is rated at 1200 watts at 12.5 volts. at 14 volts it will put out closer to 1400 with the voltage rise and the amp being a little underrated.
Another option is possibly a nine.2x and a 19ov2. we have a box that might fit.
My trunk is a mess so i cant measure, but one 19ov2 in a cavalier would be pretty cool.
A nine.2x would be great for it. and then you can mount your nine.2x and nine.2 in the back recess of the box, it would look really good with the seats folded down.
If you go to the new website:
http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/index.php
and in the search box type "Forum Discount"
It will pull up all the pricing.
you save $90 going to a nine.2x over the nine.1
granted its not as much power, but will work great if you dont want to run 2 16ov2s or 2 13ov2s
My vote is for the 19ov2 to be different.
Plus if that box fits, it will look sweet in the back.

Hmmmm Got me thinking lol, darn you. So heres what im wondering, the 2 13kv2 + Nine.2x = $375 roughly, and the 19Ov2 + Nine.2x = $410 roughly, its pretty close so either is fine, but (dont call me stupid for not knowing this on my own) Which would hit harder, id guess the 19Ov2 just cuz its bigger, but im stupid with this stuff so i dont know if 2 13kv's are better than the 1 19Ov, but you have given me something to concider, and your right that box would look bitch'n in the back there
With money being as sparce as it has been lately ill probably have to Get the 6500's + Nine.2 this payday (tomorrow possibly if money permits) and the subs + Amp in a few more paydays, I think ill go with comps first so i as least have some decent sounding music as my current stock speakers are cuput
I gotta get a 2nd job lol.
Hmm so im looking at $770 usd for the 19Ov+Nine2x+6500+Nine2, not bad, the HU is $220, so thats $990, then you got Edead (gunna have to wait a few paychecks) and wireing, not sure how much im looking at for the cost of wireing, but im ballparking $1200 cad, Oh. and the cost of the box. Im handy with wood and junk so if i get the dimentions i can handle making that box myself i think. so all in all that sounds pretty good to me
Am i missing anything? How does this system sound?
.. Again.. sorry for spamming in my own thread but i keep thinkig about stuff i should have added the first time ( i need premium lol) Ok. I forgot to ask about Sound quality, i know that Ed subs are awsome and all, but im just curious if the 19Ov2 is just as good for sound quality as the 13kvs are, and that its not JUST louder, dont get me wrong, i want it very loud, but also to sound nice
In all honesty, for ease of box building. and I know for a fact that the spec eD dual 12" box fits in the trunk. I would say the dual 13kv2. It will be loud. sound good, and be easier to build the box.
The 19ov2 is an awesome speaker. sounds great. but I think the 13kv2s might be a better choice for you.

Hmm k just when i was considering the 19Ov lol, Id like to save money where possible, where might i find a good layout for building a box for duel 13Kv.2s?? I have no idea where to start with the whole finding the cubes blah blah but im good at mesuring and cutting lol. But if i go the route of getting the box built for me, either by you or that guy at soundsthatpound.com or whatever its called (the buy JL keeps recommending) Is it possible to get a box build for the 19Ov that will fit in the trunk? I dont care bout trunk space at all so it could take up all the space
Either way im not too concerned about the box, talking strickly bout the subs, which will be better overall, SQ and loudness, the 19Ov or duel 13Kvs?
we have box plans

That is for a 13kv2
overall the dual 13kv2s might be a little louder, just becuase they might peak harder in a vented box.
the 19ov2 should be louder in average spl.
For sound the sealed 19ov2 might sound a little better, but will be really loud and might not sound as responsive from 70-80hz compared to the 13kv2s.
The only way I can see a 19ov2 fitting, it either fiberglass, or angled like in the pictures of the box i showed earlier. The box shown above requires alot of angle cuts.
One other thing to consider, being that you are in Canada, I would purchase EVERYTHING at the same time and place. especially if its shipped UPS. As they will charge brokerage fees. If you order from several different places, or everything is shipped at different times, you will get charged fees everytime. Its kinda a nightmare.
We ship our canadian customers orders all at one time. To allow them to avoid as much fees as possible.
