ok i have 2 Kicker L7 15's loaded at two ohms, then dropped to 1 ohm to the amp.... anyway took the subs out the car for acouple days left the amp in the car unhooked.. got my windows tinted and put the subs back in my car and now when the subs are low they sound like normal but when i turn it up lots of DISTORTION and its like the subs are blow...... I've take the subs out and hooked them up in my other car and they are fine.. I think its blow (amp) what do you guys think??? is it the amp??? i'm thinking its the amp but i don't know what do you guys think?? could it possibly be the radio or bad RCA's or what... James or somebody help me out, thanks

make sure non eof your setting got adjusted. Sounds like to me that your gains or bass boost got turned up, or possibly loudness was turned on.

it sounds like you have the + and - of the sub touching someplace.

how can you go from 2 ohm to 1 ohm with the same setup,? wouldnt it be 4 ohm to 1 ohm if your keeping the same subs?

the only things i could think of is either A) you crossed the + and - on the amp or sub,or B) your settings got messed with on the amp or head unit. I would turn all the settings back to 0 and start the tuning process all over again.(turn volume up 3/4 of the way up and the adjust gain and bass on the amp) also make sure you dont have bass or loudness up on the headunit.

if it was wired at 2 ohm before than it sounds like to me your running at a .5 ohm load which the amp cannot handle. are the subs dual 2 ohm or are the dual 4 ohm?

Dual 4 ohm and i correct my statement its loaded at 2ohms lol but ok i finally popped the hood and found my new terminal sitting up alittle odd on the batt. so i looked and my wires and my alt.. batt... and power wire were touching.. mind you i don't know why this would make any difference so i move them back into place and everything went back to norml!!! ????? yeah i'm stunned too but now here is the new problem, I have a new Pioneer premier deck... deh 6800 i believe and now i'm getting ground noise from the amp and when i turn it up the bass doesn't hit as hard as it used to but i think the amp is going so i'm gonna put my kicker 800.2 back but if the amp or anything could be saved let me know or give me some advice to wat i should do.. thanks in advance

Pioneers are notorious for ground issues. Also your headunits preout voltage may be lower than your other headunits so you will have to reset your gains

yeah i know.... now i have a clarion DXZ725 ( for sale along with the Pioneer) but its not installed yet and the ground noise is only when the amp is on.. not when its off or disconnected.. i don't know what it is so i'm just gonna buy new wires and run everything ALL over AGAIN and while i'm at it probably do 6x9's in the rear door.. saw it in another post and thought it was cool.. if i do it that will make 3 sets of 6x9s in my car.. so cool lol
