well I want to take out that piece of crap monsoon amp in the back...
now theres about 1000 different schmatics for this monsoon crap but I have yet to figure out whats going on...
I have it connected now to kinda bypass the amp but I don't think it's correct...
the sound is only high's when everything is centered... but when I put it to 1 side the bass kicks in
anyone know how to ACTUALLY wire this thing before throw it in the garbage and by an AMP which would make my life alot easier...
thank you

I thought I was pretty clear
guess not...
The Monsoon amp has a clip connector where there is a bunch of wires e1-16 f1-16...
now somehow I have to connect those wire together or match the +/- of the left and right rear or something...
Basically I want to know how to wire this thing and if anyone has the CORRECT schematic...
that way I can follow the wires and connect the right ones together...

so just run a pair of speaker wires from the deck to the 6x9's. Easy solution.

the monsoon headunit has 4 outputs to the amp and 8 after the amp. i found out what went where just by looking at the color of the wires at each speaker. you need a notepad and a lot more time than just running new wires.
actually i might be mistaken, could be 8 outs to the amp... now i dont remember. sorry im no help
there is a1 to a 12 and b1 to b12 on the output... some are not used...
it's not as simple as running new wires to the 6x9's to the deck...

you said you are using an aftermarket headunit and aftermarket speakers. what is so damn hard about running a pair of wires to the by nines? IT'S VERY SIMPLE.

seriously. if you dont want monsoon, dont use it...run wires straight back....it'll save you soooo much headache
I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
I agree... Just run your own wires...
When the bass is only heard in the extreme right or left positions of the balance control... It means that one of the speakers is hooked up out of phase. Reverse the position of the wires on one of the speakers and you should be much better off. Even better if you can figure out which channel is correct and which should have the polarity reversed. A multi tester can be useful here. Should get a positive voltage reading when the positive test probe is on the positive wire and negative on the other. Will get a negative reading when the wires are reversed.

no it wouldn't because I would have to take out my dash and side panels...
I wanted to use the wires that were back there EVEN THO i'm not using the monsoon amp...
thanks ROY thats a little better help

are you sure you have monsoon and not premium sound? does it say monsoon on the deck?
I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
I don't have the head unit...
but I didn't see monsoon on it... someone else on here told me it was because of the connector I had on the 6X9
maybe it is premium sound :S
monsoon goes from e 1-16 f 1 16
mines a1-12 and b 1- 12

Judging by your sig, I should have just assumed from the start....
of course you don't have Monsoon in a Cavalier....! Monsoon only came on the Sunfire. You must have the premium sound package then....
I'll have to find the schematics for you... g/f has the laptop right now... that's where my service manual is!
^^^im surprised i didnt pick up on that either...lol

Except it's AC so both wires carry both positive and negative voltage so that won't work.

thanks Lenki
yeah I was meantioning that in the other post when someone said it was monsoon but they insisted it was :S

Not true...
It's either a positive audio signal and a simple ground wire... or a floating ground with a positive audio signal on one wire and negative on the other. You can use a multi-tester to find the correct polarity of speaker wires.

Or, find the speaker wires at the output side of the amp. They should be the same colors as the ones at the speakers. Use a 9-volt to pop them, then run 4 sets of speaker wire, + to + and - to -. Done! Just make sure you connect Front Left to the Front Left speaker off the head unit.
