Problem with Head-unit

Hey all, WEll i have a problem with my head unit. When i turn my subs up (2- alpine type Rs) (MTX thunder - 942) It cuts out, and turns back on....maybe someone knows whats up...let me know....

How do you have it wired, and what's your coil configuration?

Do you have both subs going to the amp as mono, or do you have them separated as stereo into the amp? And we need to know what coils the subs are, and how the subs are wired to the coils as well. I'll bet you have it running mono, they're dual 4 ohm subs, and the amp can't handle the impedence.

It could be a number of things. Is the amplifier going into protection mode at any time? How are you getting the signal to the amplifier? If you are using RCAs you may want to check the connections at both ends to make sure one has not worked loose. Then check the cables and make sure they haven't gotten pinched by something. Is the signal coming straight out of the HU RCA outputs or are you using a LOC? What kind of HU is it?

ok....lamens terms please....ill help as much as i can, trying to let you in on my problem....thanks sorry for the inconvience of me not understanding

Kyle, really simply what cuts out subs, or whole stereo.. or do the subs keep playing ect.




1st 1st gen on air.....

Either what Lanman said, or too high voltage draw. Make sure all the connections are tight, etc.
