I want to mount my amps in the spare tire well, but my wood cutting skills are slim to none so cutting a piece of wood to fit down in there is not an option unless that's the only way to do it. Are there any products out there that i could use to fill in the bottom portion of it without being extremely heavy?
If i had to, I could try to cut a piece of wood to fit, but I would probably mess up at least one before i got it right.
Any help is great.
Thanks
measure twice, cut once! Or you could take the spare tire well cover and trace it, then trim it down a few inches so it fits inside, or use expandding foam and cardboard instead of wood. You could fiberglass it. There are many ways you could go about it.
someone here taught me this, and i hit myself for not thinking of it.
use cardboard!! make a template! get a bunch of boxes, and cut them in peices, then tape them together to form the larger shape, then trace it on the wood, and cut. nice, simple, quick, and saves materials and money!

I'll try the cardboard thing for now and if all else fails, i'll go with the expanding foam... How much is that stuff? and does it change shape on hot summer days?
The cardboard and then tracing on wood is your best bet.
What amp/amps do you plan on putting in the tire well?

I already have the nine.1 and then when the money tree grows back, i'm going to get a nine.2. Then I'm going to go with eD components once i get tired of the CL-61's.
also, how thick of wood should i use?
1/2" to 3/4"

If you wanted to plan ahead, you could do a stealth install...but I'm guessing that would be a little more work than you're wanting to do.
