I started on my power locks last night, got everything and hooked up except 2 ground wires, 2 power wires, and then conecting 2 other wires together, ran out of time. But anyways, looking for an easy to get to 12 V constant under the dash, I'd run to the battery but with the gay side posts I would need the aftermarket terminal. So if anyone knows of a place to get my constant (not switched) power. The soon the better otersiwe I have to bust out the multimeter
one of the two thick red wires under the column.

My DEI sheet says:
12volts red (x2)(common 50A) + ignition harness
If you're going to be drawing more then 50amps, might need to run a seperate wire from the battery. The 2000's - 2002's had a higher amperage constant.
Also, got this from Bulldogsecurity.com
To open up the STEERING COLUMN Covers on this vehicle to get to the IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS wiring, you must first remove this TILT WHEEL LEVER, it is removed by unscrewing it from the column. If you look at this Lever on the steel shaft it has a flat section that you can get a hold of and twist with a set of pliers to turn off.
With the Tilt Wheel Lever removed, you can remove the Screws from the LOWER Steering Column Cover and then seperate the UPPER and LOWER Covers to remove.
This shows the IGNITION SWITCH Plug on the LEFT side of the Steering Column. At this Plug you will see a WHITE PLUG in the Bottom and a BLACK PLUG on the LEFT hand side of the plug. Pressing in on the release tabs on each plug, will release the IGNITION HARNESS PLUGS.Doing this will let you get to the IGNITION wires a little easier.
Doubt you needed the pictures man, but just for anyone else who's looking
I know I can go in the column but I want something with easier acces, I'm thinking tap into the power trunk release buton, thats always hot
The trunk release button is a negative trigger... I think. Then again I could be wrong. You might have to bust out the multimeter man and just fuse the wire. Good luck!.

thats what I ended up using. I've never once used the power outlet on the passenger side of the center consil in either of my cavs, plus you can ulplug it with the consil in, so I reach under unpluged it chopped the conecter off and stole the power and ground wire form it. works perfect.
simple and nothing to pull out to get to it. power locks work perfect
my ipod hooked uo to the radio istself, you plug one end in the ipod and one in thehead unit and it charges and controls everythign form the head unit
