Hey guys...I replaced my factory 6x9's with some 4-way Pioneers, and I have replace the HU with a JVC unit about 2-3 months ago.
I was reicently on a road trip of sorts, and I had the speakers going for about 7 hours straight, and tward the end, I noticed that the rear passenger 6x9 had a sort of flopping sound. It sounded like the cone was loose.
Wondering if that could mean that my speaker is blowing out, or if its another sort of issue.
BTW, sound was not blasting, kept it at moderate levels, I had the windows rolled up, and I noticed it more on the heavy bass songs.
Thanks guys
Sounds like a problem I had. Does it sound like a rattling sound during the bass notes? Check to see if the screws came loose if you haven't already done so. I had my screws pop themselves out after a year or so, basically from pounding them. I screwed them back down, bingo, no rattle. Funny thing is that it was only my rear right speaker that did that. Never had the problem with the left.
AHHHHH
That could be it...thats exactly what it is. And its just the right rear, not the left.
back in the day i had some subs start doing that on a roadtrip. turns out when th am got hot it was causing the subs to sound wierd instead of going into power protect. it was a cheap amp tho. but i the wierd sound went away when the amp cooled off.
