Help with Bass Blockers / Caps ?
Sunday, December 03, 2006 6:31 AM
Hey guys, I just picked up a winter car ( 1996 Ford Ass-pire FREE ) and I put my 500w Bazooka Amp and 12" W0s in it yesterday along with a CD player I had laying around, and its alot louder obviously then the CD player It came with and at the first time turning it up to tune the subs I blew the left front speaker lol.

It takes 5.25 in the front and 5.25 in the hatch. My thoughts were to go to Walmart and get the Pioneer 5.25s for the front ( as of now I have 25 bucks in the car and would like to keep it that way lol ) and unhooking the rears and leaving the subs back there, and maybe putting a bass blocker on the fronts since I have a feeling they may distort at higher volumes also and the bass wouldnt sound that great anyways.

So my question is what size cap/resistor would I use to take the bass out of these pionners so the bass would be through the subs, I would like to leave some midrange but im not sure if I would just do like 80hz and below or what you would recommend and the size of the cap/res. and if I just hook one inline with the positive speaker wire or what.

Sorry for the long post and please help as soon as possible, thanks as usual
