Hi guys,
It seems the light that usually makes the letters and numbers (P,R,N,D,3,2,1) on my shifter glow has gone out and I would imagine that a fuse is to blame. Can anyone tell me which one needs to be replaced? And if it isn't a fuse, then what bulb do I need for replacement?
checked the fuses and all are good. it must be the bulb.... any guide on removing the console plate to change the bulb? and is there any other way to confirm if 194 is the right one to get?
My bulb just blew in my 2002 auto cavalier. You have to remove the center console. Its is done by removing 4 ,10mm bolts. 2 in the compartment tworads the rear. 1 under the change holder in the middle, and one in the front area under a plastic cap, just remove it with a screwdriver. be careful mine flew and I still cant find it. On the automatic you have to remove the clip that hold the top of the shifter in just use a screwdriver, its easier to get it on if you put the car in the lowest gear. Then pull the ebrake all the way up. and just wiggle it up, untill the e-brake handle get through the boot. once you get that off the will be 2 clips on the right side of the shifter, and one on the otherside near the bottom. The Bulb is on the left side under the plastic. It is a #194 bulb, they just push in, you dont have to unscrew it.
