my car has the factory deck but its the upgrade from stock, its the mp3 deck. my satelite radio came with the rca cables to directly wire it into the radio if possible. are there imputs on the back of this type of factory deck that i have? rather than tearing it all apart to be satasfied or dissapointed i wondered if anyone knew off hand. i am able to just use the fm modulator but there is still a tiny bit of static and direct connection would solve that. thanks in advance.
no your sat radio was meant for an aftermarket unit. the stock xm costs a grip load to get installed if it didnt come with the car. which is why you spend the extra 250 and get yourself an alpine or whatever brand you like and then connect it to that....
If your deck has changer controls you can get can an adaptor to give you RCA inputs. If not you can get a wired fm modulator that will sound a lot better than wireless. Since you have the upgraded deck chances are you have the changer controls.

No i have the sirius satelite radio and docking station. it has its own fm modulator. i was wondering if there are any imputs in the back of the deck since its the mp3 deck. i thought i may have read somewhere that there were some imputs or outputs on the factory deck. i would just like to hardwire it in my cav so that there is no interference. plus there is a button on my radio that is CD/AUX, thats why i was curious about it. the cable is just a red and white rca type. nothing special just plugs into the docking station into the radio. I dont want to change my deck since it works fine for what i have in there. here is my deck...
well that looks different than my stock monsoon mp3 player in my 05 fire but yeah... anyways most of the time stock units dont accept after market equipment but do you have a cd changer along with that? because if you do then you can always try what besse mentioned about the adapter who knows it might... pull the unit out and look at the back thats the easiest way to go about things....
yeah the car is in storage right now and wont be out til end of feb early march so i was just trying to get a jump on things. mine isnt the monsoon but it is the 6 speaker system.
anyone have a pic of the back side of that headunit, dont know why you would but never hurts to ask. i just cant really get into my car that easy to do that while its in storage...
you very well might since you have the cd aux button i know for my monsoon i pulled it today for that very question but see im running monsoon but it does have the aux button so it very well might work... could always give it a shot and if it dont work find somebody that wants it.... but anyways theres an extra port right by the main plug that would be used for the aux or xm set up.....
im gonna stick with my stock deck, ill just use my fm modulator and stick with that. i dont want to go through the hassle of getting another deck, then the door chime module, and all that jazz.
thanks for the help though.
im pretty sure you can run a different HU without the door chime module.... i havent gotten a new unit yet so i cant say FOR sure but that is mostly just for safety and personally id rather get rid of the annoying ish myself....
yeah you can but i like to drive with my parking lights on and wouldnt want to come out to a dead battery because i forgot to turn them off. that ding saved me a few times.
haha yeah well also i know its not sirius but im sure they make on i was looking on crutchfield.com the other day and xm makes a kit that adapts right to the stock unit it uses like the aftermarket reciever and antenna and then just plugs into the HU you might try searchin around and see if sirius does otherwise you might end up needin to go buy a dodge or ford or someone that sponsors them haha.... jk bro hope you can figure it out cuz i know i hate fm modulators they are crap for signal well mine was when i was tryin to use my laptop and had one hooked up to it...... anyways good luck man
The wired FM modulator won't sound as good as the direct connect Edward is looking at because it's still an FM signal. If you want to keep a separate receiver, and you have the changer control/ xm plug, you can get an adaptor at Circuit City for about $70 to give you RCA inputs, which will sound better than using that modulator.
