i gto this idea since i have 4 subs layin around 2 Baja profile 10's , 1JL 10' , and a Orion 12' , and i was thinking of useing the 2 profile subs and the orion sub in a box or just sticking with my 2 profile subs . id like to do the 2 10's and 12' but id need a bigger amp as well as other stuff . give me ur input and slap me around a bit .

Don't mix and match subs, it'll sound like a cat's ass.

lol cats ass^jeff ur a funny one

Im happy with my 1 12. If you match 10s with 12s you get the 10s hitting faster then the 12s, the 12s drownin out the 10s, you pretty much get a big mess. But if its for looks then go for it.

Right. Different drivers hit different frequencies, require different box sizes, and usually cancel each other out. Stick with one brand, one model, and one size.

What if you had built it in a separate box?

I had a friend of mine who did this w/ 2 Alpine Type Rs 10" subs and an MTX 15" sub, seperate boxes, and still sounded like crap. Loud, but crap. The larger sub still doesnt hit as fast as the smaller subs, and threw off the quality of the audio. If all you look for is pure noise, then go for it, but if you want a cleaner sound, just pick one or the other, I wouldnt do both.

Doesn't matter if it's in a separate box or not, it's still going to sound like your slapping a wet noodle off of a dead cow.

the 10's and 12 were gonna be in the same box, but since everyone says that itll sound like crap ill just stick with my 2 10's . thanks guys for the help

i disagree. i ran 2 13" JL subs last season along with 2 10" Polks, and my system sounded pretty damn good. i wasnt expecting the outcome i got by any means, but i wouldnt say it will never sound good. guess it just depends on the combo and boxing u use.

but the 10's are gone for this year 4 13's now

JL Audio makes 13.5" subs.

Your JL 10" should produce cleaner and higher output that your Baja 10's combined.

You should toss all of your subs and get a set of good ones.

hmmm........... Well sorry man. Looks like all you have is cheap subs to work with. Have fun with that.

toss my subs and get good ones...... kinda hard to do that when u dont have the cash for good ones , for what i would spend on "good" subs i could use to pay a few months advance for the cav. and i dont have that kinda money layin round . i never had a probs, with my 2 Profile subs when i had them in the Probe .

Then sell them and try to get at least 1 decent one!

So do whatever you want. Nobody here is going to care. You seemed to be coming to us for an opinion, others gave it to you, and now you don't like what you are hearing. Do what you want, if you enjoy it, that's all that matters.

id like to sell them off and get some good stuff , i might stick with the aftermarket 6x6's that i have in the deck now , i get some good bass as it is . my major project will be the Escort , i got a ton of room in the back since the EXP is just a 2 seater car
