ok so went to 3 db drag last summer and my cars system would just stop to play no more volt at all in the cap nothing so im thinking my car dont got enough juice.......im runing a stock alt. and just a normal bat. how much im i looking to spend on a alt...and what type of bats. sould i look into getting??
Dude a GM alt pumps out like 140amps. Unless u have one kick ass system I don't think its your alternator. I could be wrong. Just my two cents
if im not mistaken our alt.s put out 105 at 2500 rpm and somethign around 80 at idle. but i cant tell you whats wrong without knowing what kinda system you have.
a stock cavalier alternator is 105 amps. after all the electrical needs of the vehicle there really isnt that much left for the bump. I can make my car damn near stall with the stocker in
As far as alts how big do you want to go. having the 2.4 limits you in the fact that you cant use a large case gm alternator and must use one the same size case at least. I believe you can get one up to 200 amps though. Just not the 300 as with the large case

Unfortunately I don't have ricks contact info. You could also find one from Ohio Generator or Powermaster or Even Stinger if you choose. Just be prepared to pay more money for one.
As far as batteries go. I'll throw you some names. Optima, Powermaster is making a 12 volt battery, kinetic, NSB, Digital Designs has a battery that is un real as does cactus sounds. Hope that was of some help.

never had this problem till i added the second amp when i was hitting 138......db and now i got the second amp i do but im hittng 14.2db to 142.7db
