Does anyone know how to download your phone book from your cell phone to a Bluetooth enable car stereo?
I have a Kenwood Pnav6019.

If the head unit has a USB port, you can get a device for you phone's sim card that plugs into USB. Now the thing is, you would need to make sure the phone book is stored on the sim card, not the phone. Otherwise, I am not sure how you would do it. Exactly what phone are you using and what are you trying to achieve by putting the phone book in the deck?

Hey there

I have a Motorola Razor. I don't know about the the port on the front the unit. I got a Kenwood PNAV unit. It works great, but I can't get my address book onto the unit, which would make it easier to locate contacts and caller ID.
If you can help, that would be great!

I am having the same problem, but with my new Pioneer AVIC-S1 GPS that I just put in. I can make calls and stuff but I can't use the caller ID or Phone book VIA Bluetooth. The problem is that on top of hands free Bluetooth which all these new HUs and GPS support, your phone needs to support Object Push Profile (OPP). This means that your phone can send files over Bluetooth. If you phone does not support it which I think most do not except PDA phones you have to use a SIM or Flash card like stated earlier. You can also "HACK" you phone to enable OPP, I think I read though that companies like Verizon will not allow you to do it on their phones because they enabled Bluetooth to be solely used with the ear buds and headsets not to transfer files. I am currently looking for a hack to enable it on my phone.

Otherwise my GPS makes and receives the calls fine, I wish that I could use the contact list though or see the name on the caller ID other than just the number. Its all good though. I'll see what I can dig up.

OK, well that is good info to know. I will check around to see what I can find on the SIM card links or cables that might be available to "push" the contacts to the unit

I have installed several Parrot Handsfree kits into cars... They have an address book that synches w/ your phone to view your numbers on the screen.

I KNOW i have used the kit with several Razr's successfully.

You might want to try selecting the contact & pressing menu & possibly look for an option to push the contact via BT.

I have a Sony W300i and my GF has a razr and they both support OPP. The Sony is an actual Cingular phone and the razr is just a gsm enabled phone with Sony service.
