grrr..Oil PSi guage giving me headaches..

I dont know what I am doing wrong..Heres how I have it wired..

Instead of using the actual ignition switch I just used a normal switched 12v source and instead of an engine ground I just used a normal ground( not an engine ground) that I have the lights connected to and I have the sender hooked up like it shows in the graph.

When I turned the car on before I wired the sending unit and the needle would jump all the way to the max. side (100+) and once I got the sender connected it did the same thing.

I dont understand what could be wrong unless I *have* to have the wire connected to the engine ground but a ground is a ground right?

I also dont have the ground on the far right connected to anything, its just a mounting bracket stud.

Sorry... can't help ya. Don't have and can't find online the wiring instructions for that gauge.

However, the Cav I just got has the same problem, so *listening*

From what I know though (using my Cyberdyne gauge in my Fire as reference), the positive is hooked up to a switched 12v source, the ground is to the OBD2 port bracket, so that shouldn't be a problem...

Unless the sender isn't getting a good ground. Take it out, remove the teflon tape and do 1 wrap only, reinstall.

BTW: Whats with the yellow/red/black labels and the red lines on the diagram?
