Express windows down

Well First of all, I was wondering what would be the best way to make both windows in my Jeep Express Down instead of just the Drivers side(as well as express up for both). I have a few ideas in mine but was hoping someone might have some advice.

In doing this im also going to use a spare channel and out put on my Remote Started to Put them down remotely. Any ideas on this?

ummm we have a post for this

you use ford relays to do it IIRC

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

I knew this which is why i asked..
1. I couldnt find it.
2. Its for a jeep not a cav
3. I had another question

if i could have found the thread I see it would have answered all my questions....The Express up was one feature I wanted to add, as I love that in the CTS...

Try to find a Carbine ALA50-PWC3
I don't know who carries them, or if they're made any longer
I have one and it works great - express up and down and I can roll the windows down and up with the remote.

well after totally maiming 2 power window switches. i discovered that you can't use 2 driver window switches for express down. but it was worth a try, off to the wreckers to look for a sable i guess.

I just did an expanded version of this mod on my '98 Sunfire convertible. Short form directions for those interested:

To add express down to the passenger down window, follow the directions on WOJOs "express windows down" thread. One piece of critical info he didn't provide: the factory harness wire colors. Going into your car's switch unit (for Sunfires, I suspect but am not positive they are the same for Cavs) are as follows:

Black = car chassis ground

There are TWO identical brown wires: one is ignition +12V, the other is driver side window button down. You have to use a multimeter to determine which is which; obviously, the one showing +12V with the ignition on is the one to connect the green and yellow wire from the Ford module to. The other brown wire should only show +12V when you are pushing the down button on the driver window.

Other key wires:

Dark Blue: driver side button window up
Tan: passenger window button down
Light Blue: passenger window button up

To add an express up feature to the driver side window, attach the yellow/green and black wires from a second Ford module per Wojo's instructions.

Then, reverse the connections on the red, white / black and yellow wires coming out of the second Ford module. Specifically, to get an express up feature for the driver window :

Cut the dark blue wire on your factory harness. Connect the red wire from the second Ford module to the motor side of the wire, and the white/black wire from the Ford module to the switch side of the wire.

Then attach the yellow wire from the second Ford module to the brown driver side button down wire.

Voila - you now have an express up feature for your driver's window. To activate it, just tap the up side of that switch.

To do this for the passenger side, add a third Ford module, again connecting the black and yellow/green leads per WOJO's basic instructions. Then:

Cut the light blue passenger window button up wire, cutting it BELOW where you previously attached the yellow wire from your first "passenger side express down" Ford module. Then:

- Attach the red lead from the third Ford module to the motor side of the light blue wire.
- attach the white/ black lead from the third Ford module to the switch side of the light blue wire (the one the yellow wire from the first module is already attached to).

Then attach the yellow lead of the third Ford module to the switch side of previously cut tan factory wire.

Voila - you now have an express up feature on the passenger window.

Having both of these on both windows is particularly useful if you have a 'vert. When dropping the top, it's great to be able to simultaneously have both side windows expressing down. Likewise, when driving with the top down, when getting onto a noisy
road (ergo, a highway), it's great to be able to simply tap both switches to simultaneously raise the side windows.
