Deck and Amp Help
Saturday, July 14, 2007 1:35 PM
I have a 99 Cavalier and am trying to put in an HU and amp. When I went to splice the radio harness I'm left with 4 wires left over after connecting everything else. A thicker brown wire, yellow, grey, and dark green with a stripe and the HU doesn't turn on when I try to reattach the battery and try it.

so you spice the stock wireing harness? cause if so the colors do not match like a after market harness. you then have 2 options go spend the ten buck on a aftermarket one and re connect the stock harness or take a 9 volt battery (or any type)and touch the wirest together to fiqure out which are speakrs and which ones they are. and if you have a meter to locat hot ground and the ignitione wire. i personally would say get the aftermarket harness save you a bunch of time gd luck

Radio 12v orange/black - yellow on hu
Radio Ground black - black on hu
Radio Ignition yellow - red on hu
LF Speaker +/- tan - gray
RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green
LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow
RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue

confrim these connections top three being most important. Dont go using a 9 volt battery if you dont know what your doing.....GL
