can i change my 96 cavalier cluster to a newer year that has the tach on it?
if you have a 96 without tach you can only swap it for a cluster w/tach or w/o tach from a cavalier 95-97 with a non digital odometer

whats the non digital odometer. sry i dont know much.
non digital is it acutally has the wheels with numbers on them as you drive they move and tell you your car mileage. Digital is it has a little readout like a alarm- clock.
hope this helps.....the top one is NON digital, the bottom one is DIGITAL

oh ok i see what you mean. but if i dont have the rpms, on mine and get one with the rpms on it, will it be a problem.. will it do the right job
its plug and play man. you will have to do the relearn procedure though, instructions are in the library.

car audio noob since 1984.
You'll have to take the odometer from the original cluster and install it in the new cluster, or get an odometer sticker from your tag agency or whatever that issues titles in your area and fill it out and stick it in the door jamb otherwise.
im planning on doing the same thing 95 2.2/auto sedan without tach and i have a 96 rag top 2.4/auto with the tach, is there any extra wire that needs to be hooked up for the tach signal?
