Ok... i bought some subs off one of my friends, they are MTX 12" road thunder 2s... they hit good when he had them, and they are decent now that i have them, but one doesnt hit nearly as hard as the other... well, i noticed today that part of the cone (the smaller one inside the big one) is coming up partially... would this effect the sound? if so, how would i fix it?? both of them have it... just the one has more, and ALOT of raddling noise in it... so would they both also hit better if that was fixed? thanks... look foward to replies, and hope to get this figured out...

sounds t me like they might be blown. none of either of the cones should be coming up. they should be glued down tight. as for the rattling its possible that the voice coil gave out or is giving out.
well, thats what i was thinkin, but i think the one with the raddling in it still puts out too much bass to be blown.. it raddles like hell, but it does put out some bass anyway... the other one doesnt really raddle, but the cone is coming up on it a little bit, on the inside one anyway....

That would be the dust cap coming unglued. you should can try to reglue it yourself just make sure you dont use alot of glue and it runs down inside of the sub
Would that be the inside, or second cone? and would it really effect the sound that much? also, what kind of glue would i use? super glue just runs like S***... would it be ok if some got in there? like any at all is bad? thanks for all your help everyone...

the dust cap is the smaller one in the center. As far as glue idk i know i had a ehqs8 from elemental designs and the dust cap started rattling like crazy so i just yanked it off. but that was also a 15$ sub
silicone it....it will work but over time its gonna come off again
that works.... how long you think it should hold?? also, would it really effect the sound and performance of it that much, the dust cap coming off??
